Hydro Power Scheme

Hydro Power in Australia

Hydro power the most common form of renewable energy in Australia. Hydro power is energy generated from bodies of water with a large potential energy, or energy from streams and rivers that possess high kinetic energy.

Hydro power is energy generated from bodies of water with a large potential energy, or energy from streams and rivers that possess high kinetic energy. Although hydro power has tremendous potential energy, most of the economically feasible plants have already been installed. A downside to this form of clean energy is the devastating environmental destruction observed when large mountainous regions are dammed. Land is lost and the fluctuating water levels leave skeleton like trees and mud along dam banks.
